Extremely grateful to CM Uddhav Thackeray, said students after attending their NEET exam

As city witnessed pupils in lakhs coming from as far as Badlapur to make it for the entrance test (NEET)

Mumbai (Hitesh Mistry) – It was a surprising Sunday as local trains and buses witnessed more of students than office-goers travelling to their respective destinations.
Accompanied by their parents, the students were seen travelling from as far as Palghar, Virar, Karjat and Panvel only to attend the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Among the city centres, Orchid International School of South Mumbai turned out to be a fortress for more than 100 students who had congregated to attend NEET.
Municipal corporator from Indian National Congress (Congress), Nikita Dyanraj Nikam from B-Ward No 223 reached the spot before the students arrived only to ensure the safety of students who checked the area is thoroughly fumigated at the same time sanitisers were placed at all the corners besides the entrances.
Senior Police Inspector Sandeep Badgikar, along with PSIs Siddique and Pawar from the Dongri Police Station and their team were there to welcome the students.
As most of the students were present with their parents, the cops made them feel comfortable with all the required facilities.
“First of all I was extremely happy that we got into the local train without any hassles and once we reached the exam spot we were surprised to witness the cordial welcome by the Dongri police, who helped us in every possible way right from sanitising to maintaining social distancing,” said Aatmaram Tersey, one of the parents who had travelled all the way from Badlapur to ensure his daughter comfortably gave her exams.
Like Aatmaram, many such parents were quite happy to have reached prior to the test. But for those students who reached there a little late were thrilled to know that they too were admitted without being questioned.
Though the exam centre was quite crowded, it was so swiftly done that the locals were not disturbed and the traffic flow across the area too remained unperturbed.
Most of the students who were spotted coming out after successfully completing their test, wore a smiling face and a “V” gesture proving that they had faired well in their test.
“I am extremely grateful to CM Uddhav Thackeray who not only helped us reach here on time by letting us board the local trains, but also ensured we all were comfortable. The school staff and the cops were highly co-operative in making it a success,” said Priya Mhatre, one of the students, who came out of the exam hall quite cheerful.
